How I Get Out the Door in Five Minutes Flat
How I Get Out the Door in Five Minutes Flat

For a big chunk of my life, I’ve been lucky to sit in the chair and have makeup artists get me ready for events. Honestly, I love those moments—the coffee, the catching up, the little tricks they teach me that I can actually use at home. And for a long while, I had the time to play around with makeup on my own, just for fun.

Then I had a baby. And if you’ve ever had a newborn, you know—everything changes. After Jupiter was born, my skincare and makeup routine basically got chopped in half overnight. Now, with two little girls under five, it’s probably down to a quarter of what it used to be. I’ve figured out what actually makes a difference for me, and unless it’s a special occasion, I skip the rest.

For me, skincare is the star. When my skin looks good, I don’t need much else to feel pulled together. And just to say it, I don’t do Botox. Maybe I’ll change my mind one day, but for now, I’m leaving my forehead alone and sticking to skin care. I swear by Jan Marini Transformation Face Cream; I've been using it for years. Every morning, no matter how hectic things get, I make time for moisturizer and sunscreen. After that, if I’m wearing makeup, it’s a five-minute situation.

My 5-minute face

Tidy up brows. I use KS&Co sheer tinted brow gel because it cleans up and defines my brows at the same time.

Swipe on mascara. Lately I've been using Westman Atelier's version.

Apply Kosas Revealer Concealer under my eyes.

Add color for a little more life. I start with Makeup by Mario SoftSculpt Transforming Skin Enhancer to add definition, then put a pop of Westman Atelier blush on my cheeks.

Go neutral on my lips. Honestly, most of the time I don't wear color if I'm just at home. I like the moisture and polish I get from Being Frenshe Restoring Lip Balm in Cashmere Vanilla (and yes, I'm biased, but the formula really is so smooth).

That's it and I'm out the door.
